I've fallen. Can you help me get back up?
For two-and-a-half weeks I have barely exercised at all. I got off my schedule and was never able to get back on. Family activities has a lot to do with it for sure. I opted to take the kids fishing one day instead of working out. Little League and the kids martial arts also plays a part. I rush home from work in order to get the kids to where they need to be. I never eat dinner before 7pm, and by 8 I have no desire to workout.
@The_Nit tells me I need to schedule it like an appointment. He's right. I need to resign myself to the fact that I can't plan anything else between 8 and 9 pm on any night and just make that my workout time.
Because of a water main break in downtown Harrisburg, the Capitol Complex is closed and we have a day off! WooHoo! So, today I did a Spinervals DVD, "Sweating Buckets", to try and get myself back on track. It was a great day to get restarted.
Hopefully this was just a bump in the road.
Time to reboot...

I had one heck of a weekend, but now I have to get back on track.
This past winter, my Mom had 5 trees cut down at her house. As I burn wood all winter to heat my house, she said I could have all of wood from her trees – I just had to split it and stack it. At least it was cut to length. Saturday, my wife, two sons, sister, her husband and daughter descended on Mom’s, armed with a hydraulic wood splitter and a wheelbarrow.
It sounds easy with the wood splitter, but let me tell you after seven hours of moving logs – big, heavy, round ones at that – we were all pretty beat by the end of the day. And we’re not done yet. We still have at least another days splitting to go. I’m guessing we split and stacked two-and-a-half cords on Saturday.
And Sunday….well, I was as sore as any day I’ve had from P90X. Let me tell you, if you ever want a whole-body workout, I completely, 100% endorse the splitting and stacking of wood. Legs, glutes, core, arms, chest, shoulders and back all were put to the test.
But I must say that I wasn’t as sore as the rest of my family that doesn’t participate in P90X. I was able to move and get a significant amount of work done in my yard yesterday. Also, P90X definitely helped when it came to moving some of those bigger rounds.
So now it’s time to get back on track. Either tonight or tomorrow morning I’ll do Biceps and Back, then yoga tomorrow night.But one thing is certain, I’m counting Saturday as my Chest, Shoulders and Triceps workout!
